WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Retired Army National Guard Col. Bill Babcock spent more than two decades in the military, went to three wars and for years thought post-traumatic stress disorder was “a bunch of baloney.”
Not anymore.
The 65-year-old Babcock said he did an about-face on post-traumatic stress disorder, a type of anxiety disorder that can affect people who have experienced traumatic situations such as combat, after reconnecting with a college classmate who also fought in Vietnam and witnessing the experiences of younger soldiers who were in his unit and served in Iraq.
