Operation Mental Health: YAS! Military Heroes Documentary

Operation Mental Health: YAS! Military Heroes

You Are Strong! will be launching a special social change project through its advocacy networks centered on a series of interviews that will be built into one historical documentary. This documentary project will highlight the personal and professional experiences of U.S. military veterans dealing with health and human services challenges after serving during peace time or war time. This project will be based on a series on interviews that will be built into a historical and patriotic documentary that reflects the multicultural elements of the U.S. military.

Each individual series will focus on one specific cultural or minority group of military heroes as follows:

#1: You Are Strong! Latina Military Heroes

#2: You Are Strong! Latino Military Heroes

#3: You Are Strong! Sexual Minority (LGBQQTI) Military Heroes

#4: You Are Strong! African American Military Heroes

#5: You Are Strong! Asian American Military Heroes

#6: You Are Strong! Native American Military Heroes

Operation Mental Health: YAS! Military Heroes documentary project has been in the conceptual phase for years. It is a personal project of our founder Xiomara A. Sosa that is very near and dear to her heart. It is the springboard for the organization. Contact us if you would like to become a part of this historical documentary which is also a cultural and patriotic project.

If you know of someone who would like to be a part of this special project, or if you would like to be a part of it, please contact You Are Strong! Founder, Xiomara A. Sosa at xasosa@youarestrong.org

About the Military

U.S. Military 101 The "Basics" of the United States Military Reserve members fall within one of the four main branches of the military: Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy. Each branch has a group of reserves, but only the Air Force and Army attain a National Guard. In times of conflict and war, the President can call to duty all members of the reserves, but requires state approval for activation of the National Guard.
